This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website at metricchat.com (the “Site”) and our data analytics platform (the “Service”).

1. Deployment Models

MetricChat offers two deployment options, each with different data handling characteristics:

Managed Cloud

We provision and manage a dedicated, isolated instance on our infrastructure. Your data is stored in your dedicated environment and is never shared with other customers or used to train AI models.

Self-Hosted

You deploy MetricChat on your own infrastructure. We have no access to your databases, queries, or analytics data. Only license validation and optional usage telemetry (which can be disabled) communicate with our servers.

2. Information We Collect

Account & Contact Information

When you request a demo, sign up, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, company name, phone number (if provided), and any other information you choose to share.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage analytics through Vercel Analytics, including page views, referral sources, browser type, and Web Vitals performance metrics. This data does not identify individual users.

Customer Data (Managed Cloud Only)

For managed cloud customers, we process the data you connect to your MetricChat instance (database contents, uploaded files, query results). This data is stored in your dedicated, isolated environment.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• To provision and manage your dedicated instance
• To respond to demo requests and support inquiries
• To send product updates and service communications
• To monitor and improve site performance and reliability
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel — Hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring
• AI Providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) — For managed cloud customers, queries are processed through your configured AI provider using your own API keys. Self-hosted customers connect directly to their chosen provider.

Each third-party service is governed by their own privacy policy. We select providers that meet our security and privacy standards.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Dedicated, isolated instances per customer (managed cloud)
• Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Regular security updates and monitoring
• Bring-your-own-key (BYOK) AI provider integration

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you cancel your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

For managed cloud customers, we will assist with data export upon request prior to account deletion.

7. Cookies

Our site uses only essential cookies required for site functionality. Vercel Analytics collects anonymized performance data without using cookies for tracking. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a standard format
• Opt out of non-essential communications
